The Green Classroom has been undergoing development throughout the year as students settle in and create their own learning environment. The middle school students put tremendous work into build raised beds for the greenhouse by dismantling wood pallets and building multiple growing spaces. Our goal is to create the foundation for year-long food production and summer shade opportunities through vining plants. Already our little sprouts are popping up!
Each class has contributed to brainstorming what they would like to see, grow, and do in the space. The students have imagined a learning space with tables and seats where they can write and experiment on, plants surrounding them as they study, and raised beds to grow plants in every season. Each grade will help build in the learning space, cultivating it into a collaborative learning space from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
