School Garden Coordinator
Katherine comes to the Springwater garden after time spent growing food with young people around the country. After her organic farm apprenticeship, she ran school gardens throughout the Bellingham School District where the magic of learning gardens came to life for her. Seeing her students fall in love with resident worms, kale salad and shoveling manure made no small impression. Landing in Portland, Katherine has worked with schools and non-profits around the region to build, develop and sustain school garden programs. Katherine can't wait to share her love for growing, cooking and sharing food with the Springwater community.
